A fitted crib sheet has two separate jobs: stay snug on the mattress and match the textile standard named on its label. We found three current Amazon variants that state the standard 28-by-52-inch fit and connect back to manufacturer pages displaying GOTS product-label details.
GOTS certification does not make a sheet universally chemical-free, and it does not replace the fit instructions from the crib-mattress maker. It documents organic fiber processing and other requirements within the certified scope.

What to look for on a GOTS product label
GOTS explains that a valid product label includes the GOTS logo, the label grade, the certifier reference and a license number. A searchable company entry by itself does not prove that every item sold by that company falls within a certificate's scope. That is why this guide uses the label information shown with the crib-sheet collection, not a brand-wide inference.
The certification is also narrower than a general safety claim. It addresses organic fibers and processing requirements. It does not certify mattress fit, sleep practices or a child's response to a particular fabric.
1. Burt's Bees Baby Organic Cotton Fitted Crib Sheet
Burt's Bees Baby lists its standard fitted sheet for a 28 x 52 x 5.5-inch crib or toddler mattress. The product collection shows the GOTS organic label with Control Union license CU 831717. The fabric is 100% organic cotton.
The practical distinction is depth. A 5.5-inch maximum is shallower than Makemake's stated fit, so measure the mattress rather than assuming every standard sheet has the same pocket. Care is machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low.

2. Makemake Organics Fitted Crib Sheet, Blossom
Makemake's Blossom sheet is a 28 x 52-inch fitted sheet made from 100% organic cotton sateen. The manufacturer identifies the product with IDFL 26390 and lists its GOTS brand license as IDFL 010673. Its 300-thread-count sheet is described for mattresses up to 9 inches deep.
Wash on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. The sateen construction distinguishes it from the Burt's Bees Baby option, but that fabric choice is not a certification ranking.

3. Makemake Organics Fitted Crib Sheet, Safari
The Safari option is another print in Makemake's 28 x 52-inch fitted crib-sheet line. Amazon listed this exact ASIN as GOTS certified and low in stock when checked. Because marketplace variant selectors can move between prints, confirm that the selected item still says Safari and shows the IDFL label before checkout.

GOTS and OEKO-TEX answer different questions
GOTS is an organic textile standard. It sets requirements for organic fiber content, processing inputs, wastewater treatment, labeling and social criteria through certified operations. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a finished-textile test against limits for specified substances. OEKO-TEX does not, by itself, mean the cotton was organically grown.
Neither label is a substitute for checking the exact product. If an Amazon title says only organic cotton, look for the certifier and license on the packaging or manufacturer page before relying on a GOTS claim.
Fit comes before fabric preference
- Measure mattress length, width and depth, including any permitted cover.
- Use a fitted sheet made for the mattress shape and size.
- After laundering, make sure the elastic still sits beneath every corner and the fabric lies flat.
- Follow the crib and mattress manufacturers' instructions for the sleep surface.

Frequently asked questions
What does GOTS certification cover on a crib sheet?
It covers organic fiber processing and specified environmental and social requirements within the certified textile supply chain. Read the exact product label for the certifier and license.
Will these sheets fit a standard crib mattress?
All three selected variants state a 28 x 52-inch fit. Their supported depth differs, so check the mattress height as well.
Is GOTS the same as OEKO-TEX Standard 100?
No. GOTS is an organic textile processing standard. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished textile against limits for specified substances.
