“MADE SAFE certified mouthwash” is a much narrower search than “non-toxic mouthwash.” Most mouthwash coverage, including our own EWG-based mouthwash guide, leans on EWG marks. MADE SAFE® is a different program run by a different nonprofit. If you already know that seal from baby or body products and want it on a mouthwash, this page gives you a direct answer: one maker has it, and here is the product.
What MADE SAFE® Screens For (and What It Does Not)
MADE SAFE® is a nonprofit ingredient-screening certification. Each ingredient in a formulation is reviewed against a Banned/Restricted list of over 15,000 substances flagged for concerns such as carcinogenicity, endocrine disruption and reproductive toxicity. A product that fails on one ingredient does not qualify.
The seal is a statement about ingredient screening, not a guarantee. It does not test how well a mouthwash works, it does not evaluate whitening results or any dental outcome, and it says nothing about how an individual will react to a product. For the full breakdown, see our guide to what MADE SAFE certified means.
The Current Pool: One Verified Mouthwash
The certifier lists the Lumineux Oral Essentials mouthwash line, and the one we could verify as both certified and available on Amazon right now is the Whitening Mouthwash. We have not padded this page with products that do not carry the seal. If you want a wider set of mouthwashes to compare, the EWG-based guide linked below covers more.
Lumineux Oral Essentials Whitening Mouthwash
MADE SAFE®’s own product page for it states: “MADE SAFE® Certified in all currently available sizes / packaging options.” That page is the certifier’s, not a reseller claim. It does not publish an ingredient list or a certificate number, so we cannot compare the Amazon listing’s ingredients line by line. Amazon titles the item “Lumineux Teeth Whitening Mouthwash,” while the certifier uses “Lumineux Oral Essentials Whitening Mouthwash.” Brand and product match, but check the label on the bottle you receive.
No EWG rating is stated or implied for this product. MADE SAFE® is the only certification basis here.
Certification: MADE SAFE®, confirmed on the certifier’s own product page

The 2-pack and 4-pack are the same mouthwash in different quantities, not two separate picks. Prices change, so check the current listing.

If You Want More Mouthwash Options
MADE SAFE® and EWG VERIFIED® are separate programs with separate screening lists. A product can carry one, both or neither. For mouthwashes chosen on EWG-based criteria, read our non-toxic mouthwash guide. Frequently Asked Questions
Is MADE SAFE® the same as EWG VERIFIED®?
No. They are separate programs from separate nonprofits, with different screening lists. A product can carry one, both or neither.
Does MADE SAFE® certify the whitening results?
No. The seal covers ingredient screening only. It does not evaluate performance, whitening, or any dental outcome.
Do the other Lumineux flavors carry the seal?
The certifier’s site lists other Lumineux mouthwashes too. This page links only the whitening product, because it is the one we verified as available on Amazon today.
Is the 4-pack the same product as the 2-pack?
Yes. The certifier states the certification covers all currently available sizes and packaging options. The packs differ only in quantity.
What does the seal not cover?
It is not a safety guarantee and not a claim about any individual’s health. NonToxicFinder makes no health or safety claims about any product listed.
